Kidney Cancer Awareness
Written by: Tara Mann There are now more than 1.5 million new cancers diagnosed every year. More than 50,000 are kidney cancers. Kidney cancer is one of a few cancers that have the fastest increasing incidence rates. The most common form of kidney cancer is Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC), which accounts for 85% of kidney cancers and the other 15% are Urothelial Cell Carcinoma. Renal Cell Carcinoma has several subtypes; they differ in aggressiveness and how they respond to treatment. Fifteen to 25% of patients have metastatic disease at the time of diagnosis meaning the cancer has spread and is affecting other organs/parts of the body.

CANCER 101: BASIC INFORMATION ALL FIGHTERS SHOULD KNOW
By: Wendy Sater Studies show sugar molecules feed malignant cells by binding to them in a process called glycosylation. Sugar also feeds the harmful bacteria in your gut and can cause them to overcome your friendly bacteria. When this happens, your immune system (70% of which reside in your gut flora) is greatly compromised. Your immune system protects you against cancer, so when it can’t do its job, that also increases your cancer risk. Sugar is an acid-creating substance, so eating & drinking a lot of it can lead to a more acidic pH in your body. Your body was designed to be slightly alkaline…that is how all of your organs and systems work best. Instructions

If you are going to can, make it slightly more tart than usual as it will lose some tartness. Once fermented, it can be eaten right away, frozen or canned according to your cannerís instructions. Notes Do not use aluminum utensils! These quantities make enough to fill a five-gallon crock. You can adjust the recipe down and make in gallon size jars or smaller, just use ratio of 4 tbsp salt per 5 lbs cabbage. Instructions
