Time magazine PROVES once and for all the questions you have been asking for years… Here are some highlights from the article written in the October 12, 2015 issue of Time magazine: *Experts know that MANY breast cancers are, in the apt medical term, INDOLENT- slow growing tumors that may never cause symptoms let alone hasten a woman’s death. *Dr. Otis Brawley, chief medical officer of the American Cancer Society states, “If you look at the science, it’s not the case” that- if a patient gets breast cancer, it’s a failure of not getting a mammogram. *No one is suggesting that women stop getting mammograms, but the experts think it’s important to be honest that IT’S IMPERFECT TECHNOLOGY. Here is what the New England Journal of Medicine, Harvard and Dartmouth found out about Mammograms: *In another study the reduction in mortality as a result of mammogram screening was so small as to be nonexistent — a mere 2.4 deaths per 100,000 person-years were spared. [Kalager M, Zelen M, Langmark F, Adami HO. Effect of screening mammography on breast-cancer mortality in Norway. N Engl J Med. 2010;363(13):1203-1210. doi: 10.1056/NEJMoa1000727.] *Researchers from Harvard and Dartmouth found after analyzing cancer registry data from 16 million women in 547 counties across the United States, they found “no evident correlation between the extent of screening and 10-year breast cancer mortality.” The researchers concluded that mammograms primarily find small, typically harmless, or non-lethal tumors, leading to widespread over diagnosis. [Harding C, Pompei F, Burmistrov D et al. Breast cancer screening, incidence, and mortality across US counties. JAMA. July 06, 2015. doi:10.1001/jamainternmed.2015.3043] Hmm? Get a mammogram that’s:
Am I saying do nothing? Absolutely not! All testing is early detection of the disease already existing but it’s better to know early at least but a mammogram is way too controversial and minimally reliable compared to other testing.
If it’s done right and read right, breast thermography is what my mom, wife and patients do…are they controversial? yes, because they don’t know how to read them correctly, it is measuring heat and blood supply and vascular supply etc. Find the right places who do breast thermography and have a radiologist who reads them and than set up protocols if they see any concerns. Set up protocols to fix, then rerun in 90 days…that is prevention and these tests don’t cause more cancer… Can a mammogram find cancer? It’s possible and it has and they have saved some lives, but I don’t want to wait until it’s big enough to find it, plus it finds too many false positives creating over diagnosis and dangerous and deadly unnecessary treatments… Follow Dr. Majors Facebook Posts: Dr. Majors Facebook Page Click Here to Learn about our: TRUE Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign To Support Cancer Crackdown and the brave cancer fighters we assist, please donate!!!
